Travco Dubai wrapped up its 2007 marketing activities by taking part in the leading exhibition for the conferences, incentives, events, business travel and meetings industry, EIBTM, as co-participants with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). EIBTM was held in Barcelona from the 27th till the 29th of November, and Travco Dubai had two dedicated exhibition booths, and was represented by the Groups and Incentives Manager Mr. Jestine Alfred.
This unique event received over 2700 officials, decision makers, and travel industry experts, representing 95 countries in an effort to give new dimensions for the global travel industry. As a destination, Dubai's participation represented strategic importance as the emirate represents one of the world's largest tourism potential in the Middle East, with the tourism sector contributing a substantial 30% of Dubai's GDP.
A recent market survey conducted by a leading event organizer showed that Dhs 1trillion have been committed to tourism-related projects in the GCC, which are expected to be completed by 2018.
Commenting on this significant event, Mr. Jestine Alfred avowed that it was a wonderful platform where the opportunities were flowing in to be aquatinted with representatives from airlines, conference venues, convention & visitor bureaus, cruise lines, luxury trains, hotels, spas, conference planners, incentive destinations, technology providers, trade associations and media from more than 95 countries, and Travco was a under the spot light of the enthusiastic trade partners that had great interest in the destination UAE, where Travco earned an advantage of tying up with potential associates at this juncture.
