EgyptAir participated in the 27th International FITUR exhibition, 2008, which took place in the Spanish capital earlier this year.
Amr Abbas, EgyptAir area manager of Spain and Portugal, stated that EgyptAir has played a major role in increasing the travel and tourism flow between Egypt and Spain, and that as of the new summer schedule, there will be a daily flight to Madrid, and 4 weekly flights to Barcelona, in addition to 2 weekly flights to Lisbon.
EgyptAir Office Manager in Spain, Mr. Mohamed El Sakka, said that this step would be of great success as the shopping industry in Barcelona is one of the most sought after by tourists worldwide. Therefore, the availability of 13 weekly flights between those countries will only benefit both parties.
He also added that EgyptAir’s presence at the FITUR widened its exposure to numerous Spanish travel agents and tour operators. Consequently, EgyptAir in Spain, in collaboration with the Egyptian Tourism Authority, planned for further exposure for the airline. They will begin with a huge advertising campaign, followed by the sponsorship of the Spanish Golf Championship, which will be taking place in Cairo during February, 2008.
