Aiming to promote Egypt using unconventional methods, Travco Group partnered with the Theatre Production Company in the creation of a production called “Memories of the Sphinx”. Such a production is the first of its kind, and is considered to be a Broadway-like show. It aims to highlight Egypt as a country rich in art, as well as culture and history.
Chairman, Violetta Barb, together with right hand Sara Farouk, and a group of highly experienced professionals, have gathered a cast of over 50 actors, singers, dancers, and acrobats. Rehearsals will be beginning soon as the opening is anticipated to occur by the end of the year at the Convention Centre in Luxor, and will run for a year – 6 days a week.
The reason Luxor was chosen, according to the production company, was because the tourist that chooses to go to Luxor is a more sophisticated individual, who is interested in Egypt as a cultural and historic destination, and are always eager to learn more about the country and culture.
The Broadway-like show tells a tale, combining fact with fantasy and a journey through time, about how the search of love has molded history, and how our current disregard for its power is shaping our future.
