CAI Air Mall is scheduled to open early 2007, operating for the first time in Egypt 24 hours. Aiming at providing an array of services and entertainment facilities, the new shopping mall will serve both passengers, airport visitors as well as the general public.
An attractive retail concept, food and beverage outlets & children area are planned to assure it's THE place to be at. The Air Mall will also be linked to the new International Arrival Hall 3.

The TUI Group has announced that as of January 15, 2007 the low-cost airlines Hapag- loyd Express and Hapagfly will present on market with a new brand TUIfly. The new airline of 56 aircrafts will provide, with cheaper prices and higher quality, 75 flights to 17 countries, including Morocco, Mallorca, Tel Aviv, Las Palmas and Catania, to be added to its current routes. With this  union,  Travia,  TUIfly  general  sales  agent,

will add more destinations to its current Cairo- Germany route at very low costs. At half of January 2007 a  communication campaign to support the launch of new portal www.tuifly.com  that will substitute entirely the sites www.hlx.com  and www.hapagfly.com. The legal merger of the two societies, Hapag- loyd Flug GmbH and Hapag-Lloyd Express GmbH, has foreseen for 2008.

In an attempt to encourage and support inbound tourism, the Egyptian Tourism Authority issued on November 30, 2006 an amendment on the Charter Incentive Program to flights arriving to Marsa Alam from non-Egyptian points of departure, as an incentive for tour operators to produce and operate vacation packages to Egypt’s Southern Red Sea region. The support provided is via the payment of US$10.87 per seat with a maximum of US$ 2,000.00 per flight. The amendment is applied as of December 1, 2006 and valid till April 30, 2007 or till the end of the allocated budget of US$ 2 Million. Terms and Conditions are as follows: Firstly, claims for eligible flights are accepted only from the licensed

Egyptian travel agency officially appointed to represent the foreign tour operators. Secondly, claims should be presented to the authorities of Marsa Alam Airport on the designated “Claim Form”. After the claim is verified by the Marsa Alam Airport authorities, it must be presented to the Egyptian Tourism Federation in Cairo within seven days of the flight’s arrival date, together with an official letter from the hotels in Marsa Alam, where the arriving tourists are going to stay. Thirdly, flights with a seat capacity under 170 seats are eligible for support; and last but not least, flights carrying passengers not staying at hotels in the Marsa Alam area are not eligible for support.
