Aiming at flourishing tourism in the Western
Desert, Travco Hotels & Resorts (formerly
know as Egyptotel) sets a new plot in the
Siwa oasis to build the first world-class
resort of the area.
Siwa oasis, 300 km
south Marsa Matrouh and famous for its
fascinating scenery, has been recognized
by European tourists as one of Egypt’s
most attractive medical tourist
destinations famous for its hot springs
known for their therapeutic nature.
Furthermore it has
become mostly attractive to visitors
seeking relaxation and meditation. For
the active ones, possibilities are
endless with the safari excursions on
offer including desert sand skiing
around the oasis, and visiting the
mud-brick town of Shali overlooking the
oasis; in addition to the ancient
monuments like the remains of Amun’s
ancient temple with many interesting
tombs from the Greek-Roman period.
The new two-storey
hotel planned is to encompass 120
luxurious rooms, spacious bungalows to
be built on stilts over one of Siwa’s
natural lakes, a swimming pool with its
state of-art pool bar. The property will
further include utility area and will be
surrounded by a beautiful landscape.
