Cleopatra’s Spring
Pause for a dip in Cleopatra’s spring which is believed to be the place that Cleopatra used for bathing when she visited the oasis to consult the Oracle. This natural fresh water spring is a splendid stone pool, warm enough for a complete head to toe relaxation.
Bir Wahid
This is a hot spring in the dunes on the edge of the Great Sand Sea and is situated 12km southwest from Siwa. The warm embrace of the water under a canopy of stars is breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the dunes while soaking in a hot spring is a surreal experience.
On the way you can refresh in the cold spring, which is in fact lake-sized with very fresh and clean water. During the day, fishing is a favorite sport in the cold lake.
Fatnas Island
It is another favorable bathing site about 10 km into Birket Siwa, surrounded by beautiful scenery and numerous palm trees providing complete seclusion and making this spot one of the most romantic spots in the oasis. It is the ideal place to spend a wonderful afternoon watching the sun setting.
Shiata Lake
It is situated 25 kms away from Siwa in the desert and 8 km beyond Sidi Saleh, the famous local Saint buried in the middle of the desert. Lake Shiata is surrounded by palm groves and availing the visitors a beautiful isolated spot to enjoy the day in the calm and serene natural surroundings.
Birket Siwa
Birket Siwa (Lake Siwa) is the visually most attractive of the two salt lakes of Siwa. It starts where the palm groves end, and it is framed by mountains. Birket Siwa is best visited as a part of a trip to Fatnas Island.
